David Waak is a 28 year old male, born and raised in Columbia Nebraska, he ran away from home at the age of sixteen as he was a victim of child abuse. He is a high school graduate with some college experience in medical assistance, Mr.Waak has been homeless for over ten years and feels much safer away from his abusive family members. People Helping People witnessed Mr.Waak digging in a trash can trying to supply himself with food to eat on Hollywood Blvd, we then provided him with a hot meal and a cold drink, he was overwhelmed. Suffering from schizophrenia he has lived on the streets for so long that he has grown a custom of a certain life style and does not want help or to go into any programs. Three words David uses to describe being homeless are food, sleep, and water, his biggest fear is going to jail for no reason and the hardest part is being around hurtful people.
